Sponsored by the League of Women Voters of Cleveland Educational Fund and Ameritech, in original partnership with the Cleveland Bicentennial Commission, and the NASA Lewis Research Center.
BACKGROUND
The Cleveland Bicentennial Commission sponsored Teaching Cleveland: A Bicentennial Project. As a legacy project, Teaching Cleveland offers a school-based comprehensive program of "hands-on" materials and activities that enable Greater Cleveland students to experience Cleveland's history and create their own vision of the city's future.
GOAL
The ongoing goal of this project for grades K-12 is to increase the knowledge of Cleveland's past and inspire students to take part in creating its future.
OBJECTIVES
--  To provide educational opportunities that build knowledge and a sense of personal connection to Cleveland's past
--  To enable students to create a place for themselves in Cleveland's future through their imagination and power of their ideas as they develop visions of the city's future.
