| What is the World Wide Web?
The Web is a graphical environment that gives you point-and-click access to the Internet through a network of World Wide Web (WWW) servers (computers). Before the Web the Internet was completely a text environment. The Internet is a collection of information stored in computers physically located throughout the world. Much of the information on the Internet is organized onto pages. The entire network of pages can be potentially interlinked, one pointing to another. A fine source for general internet information and help on how to use a web browser can be found at the Netscape Handbook Pages. The pages contain valuable information as well as a frequently asked question listing. |
